I have been designing video games for over 5 years, going from Scratch to Unreal to Godot (I still use all of these). I also learned python in between and wrote a few useful tools, which I still use to this day.
At the time, I had about 1-4 months of experence with godot, so I decided to write a godot version of an endless runner game (which I originally wrote in Unreal Engine for the purpose of teaching people).
I worked hard, but I couldn't figure out how to get the camera working, so I finally gave up. So what happened? Why does Endless Dash exist? It all started when I was looking on kenney.nl to see if there were any new game assets. That was the point when I noticed something. The button for the starter kits page, so I opened it and found that they were for godot. I downloaded one, updated godot, and tried it out, and I found that the camera was working! This meant that I had an example with a working camera, and from there I created a new project, did some more reserch, and programmed the game.
